1 ACADEMIC LIFE This is our life or part of it at least. But what do these pictures mean? They're nothing but carbon copies of the truth. That's why they're here, to re- mind you that somewhere in the pastMonona Grove has given you something positive. The picture of the hallway means nothing unless you walked it. Maybe it was empty and you trudged the long walk to your locker after a make-up test. Or maybe it was full of people, happy as they packed up for the weekend. Only you know what happened. Did someone or something affect your life in a classroom such as this? Did some teacher touch ona bit of philosophy and then fleetingly pass on, leaving some of it imbedded? You may have discovered an area of Work that may someday become your future career. Science never appealed to you until you entered a chemistry lab or the resource center. You may never have even considered Speech as an area of study until you shakingly rested your hands on the podium for the first time. If nothing else, let these pictures remind you of the good, however seemingly insignificant, that passed there.

SOCIAL LIFE This is Monona Grove- the social part. Do you remember Homecoming, 1966? The gala festivities of the rally, the parade, and the elaborate preparations led up to the finale of the dance. But the monumental events were not the only parts of social life, each day brought new people, conversations, and its own events. Maybe you struck up a friendship over a life-and-death game of chess in the MG Room. Or maybe a bond was initiated as two unacquainted people cheered the team to victory. Or the class unity grew stronger in the pep contest competition. Or perhaps you found a friend amidst the gorging population at break. Although these memories may grow harder to recall as time passes, they are presented here to you to be remembered only as you wish them to be.
