I am continually impressed and encouraged by the day by day evidence of students taking an increasing measure of responsibility for their own educational development . That Mon- ona Grove students in the past have developed a high degree of personal responsibility and self-discipline is reflected in the success patterns that reveal themselves through per- iodic follow-up studies of each graduating class . A drop-out rate that yearly is less than one percent- a truly remarkable record- in- dicates the regard that our young people have for an education and, hopefully, for the record that must accompany the diploma- paper sym- bol of accomplishment. A Wide variety of studies and reports from the guidance depart- ment, staff committees, departments, and individual teachers verify one's observations and impressions that young people are con- cerned With preparing themselves for the challenges and opportunities that lie in the unpredictable future .
