EDWARD Pouocic VICC Pfesldem for Academm Affaws Vice President for Student Services A Message From the President Greetings to the Students of Mon- mouth College. I am grateful for the invitation to welcome you through this issue of the SHADOVVS and to extend a brief message. Some time in your life you will pause, reflect and de- cide that a certain period contained the best years of your Iife. Some may opt for your late twenties while others will move the time a decade or two beyond. Some, happily for- ever young in heart, may hold the best is yet ahead. A number will set- tle upon your college days, and I hope many of you have a strong tug to do so. And yet . . . I hope that these days and years spent at Mon- mouth do not, as life spins on for you, really win your vote. For these years are not really years of fulfill? ment. Rather they are years of prep- aration. Commencement is a well- named ceremony with which to conclude your undergraduate days. As you reflect, I hope you recall that it was here that you first sensed a world that was earlier invisible, and which, once glimpsed, forever fascinated you and beckoned you on. I hope these years prove to be the period in which you developed an abiding sense of values as well as professional techniques and that the combination widens your best days beyond anything possible had not Monmouth been a part of your life. My prophesy is that this is the way it will work for most of you, and hopefully for you all. Dr. William G. Van Note President DR. KENNETH C. STREIBIG Dean of the Junior College Division
