One of the honors desired by all MHS musicians is their M award. lvluch hard work is involved in earning these letters. In order to quality, a student has to earn a total ot 500 points for orchestra or 520 points tor band. These points are earned by playing solos and concerts in public, holding student ottices in bond or orchestra, attending music camps, taking private music lessons, and entering contests. The point system is set up so that most students are able to win a letter before they graduate, Those who received their letters before this year are not pictured above. 28
