Ih Vmldmi ' i (Heddo e During my freshman year in college, I kept a diary. I have to confess that it is the only time that I ever wrote a day-to-day record of events in my own life. Now I discover that it is no longer necessary for freshmen, sophomores, jun- iors or seniors to keep a diary of events while m college. The editors of the Ravelings have a way of taking pictures at the right time, recording the names of all our friends, listing the scores of the games we will always want to re- member, and reflecting the life of the school both at work and at play. Long after 1959 is past, we will be turning to this book for dates and data, names and places, events and speakers. Bemg a record of the activities of many people over a period of one year, this book has a human interest not only to those whose names and pictures appear within its pages, but to young people in high school looking forward to college and to those in other colleges com- paring campus activities. The value of this volume is not easily determined. Right now vibrant with life and arousing so many memories, we wonder how we could get along with- out it, but years hence, when old friends gather and we begin to talk about the days of old, it will really be priceless. The hard work performed by the editors and photographers finds its reward in the appreciation which is felt now and will be felt for years to come by many of us who find great satisfac- tion between the pages of this book.
