Reflections On Graduation Day WE HAVE ONLY JUST BEGUN. It may seem like the end to me but it is really just the beginning. The beginning of anew life. After graduation it will be a new world for me. Itfs sad to think about it because all of my friends and I have really had some great times together. Withouta doubt, I've had fun. There were some trying times, but most of them seemed to pay off sooner or later, somehow or other. Of course, I've had to work. I can't begin to count the number of times I've had to worry about my assignments. I worked hard to memorize facts of ques- tionable value and wondered if the effort was worthwhile. Iknow that I along with many others will have wished we had studied a little harder. Still, I've been rewarded. I am a different person in many ways. I am now more open, more observant, and more objective. I've grown to respect and care for other people, regardless of their nature. I've felt and seen, and done a lot of little, yet big, things. For instance, being alone in the auditorium trying to study . . . sitting on the benches when I was supposedto be somewhere else. . . riding the band bus to the football games . . . practicing those final details for SIDNEY . . . being sick on the right days to go the the track meets . . . swimming in the locker room showers . . . trying to laugh at Mr. McConne1l's jokes, HA! HA! . . . extra-credit classes in Mr. Klaric's room . . . trying to keep my locker from jamming 99171, of the time . . . talks with Big Brother . . . being disabled from gym class . . . final exams the last couple weeks of school. As my friends and I will soon find out, graduation day will be a happy yet a very sad day. I will be parting with a lot of great friends. Although I will have many fond memories, it will never be the same. IT IS NOT THE END, MERELY THE BEGINNING OF THE END. A SENIOR
