SCIENCE SEMINAR First row, left to right: Cantrell Craig, Francis LeFurjah Eddie Linebarger, Dortha Pryor, Bill Davis, Charles Rhea Wicks, Earl Cannady. Second row: Mr. H.C. Davis, sponsor, Keith English, Forest Caudle, Robert Clark, Eugene Brown, Joseph Robinson. Third row: Fred Herriman, Doyle Ogle, Jack Spain, Billy Thomas, Bert Robbins. Science Seminar was organized by H.C. Davis, together with several of the students ln science in the year of 1956 It was the desire of this group to keep up with the recent developments in the scientific world, which led to the organization of the Science Seminar. Science Seminar is an organization of college students, membership being limited to those in the science department This year the club affiliated with the Missouri Academy of Science, which we consider a step of major importance to the progress and perpetuation of this organization. A number of members attended the Missouri Academy of Science meeting at Rolla School of Mines on April 25, 1958. Most of the members also made the annual trip to the Joplin- Galena-Pltcher mining district. Meetings are held once each week, and at each meeting a student reports on some scientific subject of recent publicity, a subject on which perhaps some valuable discovery has been made. However, this year the program was altered to include several prominent outside speakers. In this manner the membership of this club keeps 'right up to the minute' in the ever advancing field of science.
