people of our city have chosen these men, placing complete faith and confidence in the ability of these men to maintain our schools. Our faith has been well rewarded, our School Directors have clearly demonstrated their abilities. They have striven to uphold and strengthen, extend and broaden our educational standards, taking progressive strides toward better schools for Monessen. Much of the work of the School Board is accomplished behind the scenes and goes unnoticed by the average citizen. Serving on the School Board is certainly not an easy task that requires little of the individual di- rector. The work involved is generally dif- ficult and time-consuming, often the only satisfaction received is that of knowing that the utmost is being done towards educating our people. Undoubtedly these men are worthy of the highest praise We can offer. They are performing an invaluable service for cur city, state, and nation. JOSEPH J. Helps Form Young Minds for Tasks Ahead The three years of Junior High School form the educational foundation for the futureg it is imperative that a solid founda- tion be laid if the years ahead are to be successful. Always ready with a friendly smile and an encouraging word is Mr. Hazelbak-er, who is in charge of the seventh grade in the Lincoln School and the eighth and ninth grades in the Junior High build- ing. Serving ably in another of our school's divisions is Mr. Duronio, director of the Vocational Department, which consists of the automobile, electric, and machine shops. We are fortunate in being able to put our confidence in men such as these. They are competent men in a challenging posi- tion. PHILOMENA FIORILL, BETTY GALLAS Senior High Office Secretaries Kf- irr-
