people of our city have chosen these men, placing complete faith and confidence in the ability of these men to maintain our schools. Our faith has been well rewarded, our School Directors have clearly demonstrated their abilities. They have striven to uphold and strengthen, extend and broaden our educational standards, taking progressive strides toward better schools for Monessen. Much of the work of the School Board is accomplished behind the scenes and goes unnoticed by the average citizen. Serving on the School Board is certainly not an easy task that requires little of the individual di- rector. The work involved is generally dif- ficult and time-consuming, often the only satisfaction received is that of knowing that the utmost is being done towards educating our people. Undoubtedly these men are worthy of the highest praise We can offer. They are performing an invaluable service for cur city, state, and nation. JOSEPH J. ALEXANDER KACHMARIK President ADMINISTRATION Were it not for a certain group ot men, operating the Monessen public schools would be virtually impossible. Our educa- tional system would fail hopelessly in its operation without their expert guidance. Who are these men? They are all members of our community, they are interested, pub- lic-spirited citizens who value education, they are elected by the people of Mones- sen and give generously of their time in order to provide the best possible educa- tional opportunities tor the people ot our city. These men form the Monessen School Board. Recently we have become increasingly aware of the fact that education is vitally necessary in the world ot today. Without responsible, competent men guiding our educational system, this country would tall from its position of world leadership. Here in Monessen we have responsible, compe- tent men at the helm of our schools. The ROW 'I-Emil Beck, Alexander Kachmarik, Dr. Joseph J. Pallone.
