Dan has been ski jumping for many years, and he is one of the most promising young jumpers to come out of the Midwest. He has high hopes of competing in the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia. Dan’s credits are exceptional. He was a member of the Junior National Team in 1979, competing in California. Dan also competed as a Junior World Team member in both 1980 and 1981, in Sweden and West Germany. He was an Olympic Forerunner at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York. In the 1982 Silver Mine Hill Ski Jumping Tournament held in Eau Claire Dan placed 4th in the Junior Class under heavy competition. As this book goes to press, Dan is off somewhere — probably in Colorado, New York, or Europe — building experience for a bright future. Good Luck Dan! Page 27 Classmen SSaOUIOHdOS Juniors, as they plod along waiting for their Senior year, have to endure their plight as a class “stuck-in-between. 77iey listen to Mr. Peterson's philosophies of literature, Mr. Stoughton's history taught through example, and some have to decipher the Greek written on Mr. Thompson's chalkboard. The Junior Prom takes forever to plan for and construct, but that beautiful moment disappears in one fleeting evening. Wonderful memories are all that remain ... They found what marching on the “wet” field is like, built their own float, and joined clubs and sports. By the end of the year, the freshmen adjusted to the high school schedule, and are now waiting to become Sophomores. Advisor, Mr. Swanstrom, Pres. Becky Shafer, V. Pres. Angie Hehli, Sec.
