Dear Students: A high school education for every American boy and girl is rapidly becoming more and more essential for whatever vocation they might choose. The high school curriculum of today is flexible enough to meet the interest and abilities of every student so that they will find an enjoyment and a challenge in their studies. In our schools, we have an obligation to give equal opportunity to all who seek it. In Mondovi, we try to fulfill our obligation by instilling in our students the genuine qualities of loyalty, good fellowship, honor and regard for the nghts of others. Through the use of these qualities both in and out of school, high school becomes not only a preparation for college but a preparation for life. Sincerely, eniors Sentox Ca44, O icem G. We also participated in many other activities and events. November 4 was the big day for the Freshmen. This was initiation day. Even though it was a dreaded occasion, it turned out to be fun for all. The Freshmen joined with the seventh and eighth grade and had their own football team. With Mr. Meythaler as their coach, they played against neighboring schools. The big project for the Freshmen again this year was writing autobiographies in English I. This brought out many hidden facts about the new students of MHS. One important fact about the Freshman Class, which was greatly appreciated, was their interest in school activities and their eagerness to participate. i 4 9 % x t d c First row: Mrs. Conger, J. In conference play the Buffaloes had a close game with Osseo in which a bucket in the final seconds gave Mondovi the win. Mondovi beat the defending champions, Black River Falls, by the score of 59-39 at Mondovi and 69-59 at Black River. Both games were close even though the scores might look one sided. In non-conference ballgames the Buffaloes lost to Chippewa Falls 64-51 at Chippewa. They also lost a march of dimes benefit game against Winona High School 69-65. Their only other defeat was a 63-62 loss in an overtime at Menomonie. The Buffaloes had scored an earlier 51-49 win over Menomonie at Mondovi. How can I have a mother who is only a Freshman? If Susan had known what a sensation her good-looking mother would cause when she hit that college, she'd have wailed even more. Right at the start Abigail is met by a deep freeze from the Dean who suspects that this is a joke. When the likeable professor offers Abigail special help, some problems arise and everyone is in for some surprises. All in all, it added up to a delightfully humorous play.
