Bock row: Mrs. Rosenthal, Mr. Niedzwiecki, Advisors. Surprise was written on the faces of all upperclassmen on September 5, 1949, when the doors of Mondovi High School opened, and more than ninety new Freshmen enrolled for the year 1949-50. We were indeed a large class, and so to run our affairs we chose our officers as follows: Wayne Nelson, president; LeRoy Segerstrom, vice-president; Emmy Cook, Secretary; Beverly M. Eide, treasurer; Allen Christopherson, reporter; and Kathryn Blum-hardt, assistant reporter. Early in the Fall we were thoroughly initiated into the ranks of Mondovi High School students by the Sophomores. For Homecoming we presented a skit and also constructed a float for the parade. Many members of the Freshman Class joined various clubs and participated in several activities open to students. Members of our class have also been well-represented on the Mondovi High School Honor Roll during the past two semesters. 24

Eighth graders at work JUNIOR HIOH The seventh grade enrollment has remained at thirty-three during the past year. Wallace Schlegel left our class, and Jack Neis entered it. Of the forty-one students enrolled in the eighth grode, twenty-seven have been together through the eight years. Donna Weiss is the first one we have lost by death. The Junior High basketball team had the honor of bringing home the Osseo Tournament trophy for 1950. This is the first time in five years that they have taken first place. Back row: L. Crawford. B.
