The High School Victory Corps, rationing, war stamps and bonds have all had their place. Mathematics, science, aeronautics, and physical education have forged to the front. A large number of our boys and girls are in the service. Others are ready to go. We must prepare our students for both war and peace. The students and faculty wish to do everything possible to help promote the war effort, and will continue to do all they can for the duration. At a time like this we all have our Job to do. The school will do its part. mex tco Bertna Jean Nees ■Jean ■The quiet mind is richest.■F.H.A. 1 Sylvia Johnson Silly “I love company. Bernice Wright Babe Life—what fun. Are you going to marry my thither? senior cjqss In the spring, the seniors displayed their last effort as a group, along the dramatic line. Mistakes at the Blakes, the play chosen, easily lent Itself to much hilarity and fun at rehearsals, and the cast took full advantage of this. One scene in particular caused a great deal of amusement. This scene called for a barking dog off stage. It was discovered that Bud Sterry had an outstanding bark and growl. Consequently, he was elected to be the dog. Everything went fine until Earl Heck decided to help him out. Each tried to outdo the other, and between the two, no lines on the stage could be heard. However, in spite of foolishness and fun, the cast did a lot of hard work on the play and made it a success. CAST So you have a fortune. Tom finds out about Charlie. Greetings from Anna. By eleven o'clock on the eve of dress rehearsal, everyone, Including the director, Mrs. Ede, wondered whose Idea It had been to give a class play. However the next night, December 17, the play was presented to the public, and every member of the cast came through with flying colors to make Plane Crazy a success. RESERVES John Walker Reserve Douglas Solberg Reserve John Kreher Reserve Editor's Note: We realise with regret that the servicemen's section of the ■Mirror'1 is neither accurate nor complete. Though we have done our best through newspaper publicity, we have found it impossible to get in touch with all friends and relatives of the servicemen to receive all of the pictures. Because of transfers after the publication of the Mirror , there may be errors in the branch of service. We did not include the servicemen's ranks, because we realized that their promotions were too rapid to complete an accurate list. Since men are continuously going into the service and since we have had no access to a complete list of servicemen, it is quite probable that we may have omitted names of alumni in service. We hope that these unavoidable errors or omissions will be pardoned. 7 - - . -7 'w • N v •' + -J-J-M '• v 1 V w ■■.--- . |M c.
