28 ELMER BROWNELL Elmer, another of our carrot tops, was bom in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on December 14, 1915. Elmer says he has no interests in life, but we know better. He says he wishes to marry late in life, but he will not reveal the characteristics he desires in his future wife. He is fond of farming and likes to spend his leisure time in hunting and fishing. BUTLER On September 17, 1917, Neil Butler arrived in Mondovi. Neil is tall, has dark hair and blue eyes. His three ambitions are: to travel, to earn money, and to have a good time. (We believe, though, that he would like to be a great political leader in the Socialist party. He certainly argued enough in our American History class.) His wife must be “peppy”, romantic, and “good-looking”, and must have plenty of horse sense. His favorite hobby is riding wild horses. If he suddenly came into possession of $5,000, he would board a ship and travel. 27 JANE O. BERGERSON Jane was bom on February 15, 1917. She grew up in Strum, the town of her birth. She came to Mondovi to attend our excellent high school. Jane is little, but oh my! She has light brown hair and blue eyes. Her three greatest ambitions are to be well thought of, to become a mathematics teacher, or a rural teacher. Jane’s chief interest in life is to get as good an education as she possibly can. Jane’s future husband must have the following characteristics: Honesty, ambition, politeness, and neatness. She doesn’t want to marry early, nor does she want to marry late but she wants to marry in between. Jane is in favor of prohibition. 29 KATHERINE CRARY “Crappy” was bom in Eau Claire on June 14, 1916. She is a slender, little Miss brown hair and blue eyes. Her greatest ambitions are: to become a primary teacher, to become a nurse, or to become a bookkeeper. Her greatest amusement is going to shows. She wishes to marry late in life, and she wishes the person she marries to be honest, to have ambition, to have clean habits, and to be good natured. She says she wants to live in a small town, so evidently the lucky fellow lives right here in good old Mondovi. Eva says she has no ambitions nor interests in life. Funny, isn’t it? However, she does intend to get married, though late in life. Her husband must be tall, truthful, dark and wealthy. Evidently, Eva believes in living a life of ease amidst luxury in a large city. This gal has no favorite orchestra, but she likes jazz. Perhaps, she likes the Junior Ambassadors, too. Her favorite amusement is dancing. Her favorite selection is “Good-night, little girl of my.” We wonder why!
