22 ALSTON OLSON On April 21, 1917 Alston Olson was born in Blair, Wisconsin. He aspires to be a mechanic or an aviator, enjoys skiing, reads Zane Grey, and studies History. This young Democrat is looking for an intelligent, lovely, pleasant lady whom he may marry early in life. LA VERNE OLSON Laveme Olson was bom in Mondovi on September 18, 1917. He “sincerely hopes” that he will never get married. He is in favor of neither prohibition nor communism. He is of average size, weighs 140 pounds and is 5’8” tall. He is a Republican who loves roses, spaghetti, and playing cards. His hero is Pershing. LINDA PAPE Linda was bom in Mondovi on August 1, 1917. She is tall, thin, and dark-haired, likes typing and shorthand, and hopes to be a stenographer some day. IRMA RIECK Irma was bom in Mondovi on May 4, 1916. She is especially interested in books and music. The book she likes best is Lindbergh’s “We”. Her favorite poet is Robert Frost. She loves ice cream and roses. Irma’s favorite musical selections are “Abide with Me” and “The Old Spinning Wheel”. PAUL RIECK Paul was bom in Mondovi on April 1919. He has aspirations in the fields of aviation and teaching. He enjoyed reading “All Quiet on the Western Front” more than any other book. Paul’s hero is Ichabod Crane. The girl Paul marries must be intelligent, beautiful, popular, and sensible. He desires to marry just “medium”. He is in favor of prohibition but he wouldn’t commit himself to any political party.

21 VILAS LIEBERMAN Vilas was bom in Mondovi on July 30, 1916. He is the “Little Giant” of Athletics although he loves pie. Watch those training rules, Vilas. He also adores Cagney and West. The girl he marries must be “truthful, a good worker, good looking, and popular. TONETTA LILLESKOV Tonetta “Tony” Lilleskov was bom in Modena on October 11, 1917. She has rather popular likes and dislikes. Her favorite dish is a glass one. She likes to spend her time in chewing gum and gossiping. If she received $5000 she’d do nothing with it. ( She doesn’t “cross bridges”) EILEEN LUBINSKY Eileen was bom in Mondovi on December 16, 1917. She is now an ambitious young lady who adores Gene Raymond, Abe Lyman, Joe Penner, swimming, ice cream, and a few more things, and longs to become a professional dancer. GLEN MAHER On December 2, 1916, Glen Maher was bom in St. Paul, Minnesota. This young man, popularly known as “Bud”, adores brown potatoes with gravy, girls that are interesting and like to cook, and roses. He reads “Buck Rogers” and Sinclair Lewis. If his dreams come true, he will become a famous singer. REBECCA NOGLE Rebecca Nogle was bom in Mondovi on February 16. 1918. This young blond enjoys dancing and typing, admires Kay Francis and Clark Gable, reads Mrs. Lutz, and likes macaroni. She wants an ambitious, truthful, loving, and educated husband.

23 IVA SATHER Iva was bom January 26, 1916. She is of medium height and build and has blond hair and blue eyes. She likes shorthand and typing and would like to be a stenographer some day. She would like to marry early in life to a tall, handsome, wealthy, thoughtful man. ETHEL SMITH Ethel was bom in Mondovi on December 26, 1917 -just a little late for a real Christmas present. She desires to become a successful teacher or nurse. She wishes to marry early in life a man who is truthful, kind, intelligent, and handsome. She likes to read “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” and the “National Geographic Magazine”. She loves to collect flowers and birds and to swim. JEAN SNOYENBOS Jean was bom in Mondovi on January 21, 1918. She desires to be a home economics teacher and also to be an old maid. She likes athletics and spinach. She likes to spend her leisure time golfing as she says that it’s a good way to reduce. (How about the curves?) Jean thinks that lies are absolutely justifiable, especially after she has “stayed out after a basketball game.” MARGIE STEEN Margie was bom in Maxville, Wisconsin on April 25, 1918. She intends to go to Madison to school. She said that she wouldn’t dare say what her chief interest in life is. She wishes to marry early in life to a lovable, wealthy, handsome, young boy. When asked about prohibition, she simply stated, “We want more beer!” Her hero is Alston Olson.
