19 JOSEPH DEETZ Joseph, a true potato-loving Irishman, was bom in Gilmanton on October 31, 1918. He aspires to reach fame by teaching, farming or as a stenographer. His favorite orchestras are, he says, the Minneapolis Sympathy and the New York Philo Harmonic. He believes in stealing when he doesn’t get what he wants. LELAND GIESE Leland, who was bom on March 10, 1918, wishes to become an aviator, mechanic, or musician. The girl he marries must be sensible, beautiful and popular He states, however, that he never wishes to marry. Apparently, he can’t find that kind of girl. However, he has taken a fancy to Mae West. Does she fill those requirements? ROBERT GRIFFITHS A true Methodist Welchman, Bob Griffiths was bom on September 20, 1917 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. A typical son of the ministry. Bob believes that lies, theft, and murder are all justifiable; the latter especially if he “has it in for somebody”. He is very sensible about marriage. He will marry as soon as he can finance it. He also stated that if he got $5000, he’d spend it, but how he wouldn’t tell. RUTH HUEBNER Ruth was bom in Shawno, Wisconsin on July 1, 1917. Her chief interests in life are men, music, and money. She desires to marry a man who is wealthy, brilliant, handsome, and faithful. The little gold-digger! Before she marries, she wishes to become a success as an artist, beauty culturist, or nurse. She believes that lies are justifiable when she “comes in too late some nights.”

NORRIS JOHNSON Norris “Norsky” Johnson was bom on March 21, 1916. He aspires to fame as a farmer. He desires wisdom and favors the poetry of Robert Frost. He is a son of the earth as he plans “to farm and make a go of it.” He wishes to marry a good cook who is easy-going and pretty. A very safe choice. He wishes to have wealth, fame and wisdom. VERLE KINS Verle was bom January 15, 191 His greatest ambitions are to be successful and to be wise.
