Some girls have that charm which attracts attention; others have that charm which must be sought and which, when found, is all the more delightful. Of the latter type is Marie. To be a good listener is as great a virtue as to be a good speaker, and you may well believe that what Lawrence hears he renumbers and puts to use. While most of us are chattering about the weather or doing some other unnecessary talking, she is doing some serious thinking.
