They meet once a week on Wednesday morning and spend the period singing for the joy of singing. The Chorus has taken part in various programs, such as As- sembly, the Christmas entertainment and Easter program. The Chorus presented a NGay Ninetiesn program in February at which time many old time songs were sung and old fashioned costumes were reviewed. y The Annual Lucas County Music Festival was held May 10 at Whitmer High School. We took part and enjoyed singing with such a large group of girls from all over the county and une der a guest conductor.- Our Chorus sang at Baccalaureate Service in honor of the graduating Seniors.

The Hi-Y is a high school organization for boys with a funda- mental relationship to the Toledo Y. M. C. A. and the National Hi-Y. It functions as a service club, helping both school and community. The understanding, appreciation, and cooperation of the parents in the home is desirable in Hi-Y membership. Jim Strayer and John Walter attended Hi-Y Camp Nelson Dodd last August. Delegates from Ohio and West'Virginia attended the Camp. In January, Jim and John with our Monclova Hi-Y secretary Dick Priest, went to Columbus for the annual Hi-Y Congress attnr ded by about 500 boys. Excellent speakers and profitable discus- sion groups made the conference well worth while. Monclova Hi-Y speakers included Mr. J. Martin Courtney, Jr. who talked of the training of a paratrooper, and he showed numer ous photos of sea-rescue work. Mr. Ralph Tippett of the Toledo Y. M. C. A. presented a program of Magician Tricks. In February the Nationally famous song leader Captain George Campbell led group singing in such a way that our gym rafters fairly trembled Hi-Y boys have attended 'Toledo Area forums at the Central Y. Mr. Gus Ohinger talked oh China and movies were shown about China. The Monclova Hi-Y officers meet monthly in Toledo with off- icers of all clubs in Toledo area, and plans are made and dis- cussed for furtherance of Hi-Y ways and means.

They that the troop has three members of Life Scout--Dick Priest,Duane Gundy. These three Life Scouts p in the North Woods to attain by passing their Merit Badge Tests and obtaining their Eagle Award--the highest rank in scouting. In addition to these,Ben Paxton has moved to First Class. Bill Hoffman, Jack Currier, and Charles Cooper are Second Class Scouts and the Tenderfoot Scouts are: Charles Parker, Fred Fruchey, Jim Hunt, John Nailor, Richard Pickering, Tom Trapp, Richard Kampfer,Bob Dennis,Don Berry, Francis Berry, Don Strayer, and Harry Walters. Troop 98 was host to the South Suburban Area Council at a Hobby and Advancement Show in March. Troops of this area furnished displays for the show, held in the Monclova Gym. The Troop again this year entertained at'a Scout Parents Banquet. Since they have held two successful banquets,they hope to make this an annual affair and incorporate it into the traditions of Troop 98. Troop 98 wishes to thank the school officials and the community as a whole for their assistance and cooperation through the year.
