Sitting left to right: Mr. C. E. Cullum, Mr. H. V. Brown, and Mr. Charles Switzer, Presidentg inset: Mr. Seals Brown. Dear Students: The privilege of serving as a member of your board of trustees is a gratifying one and affords an op- portunity to make many observations, along with your teachers. One of the outstanding experiences is that many of you have learned the effect of your educational preparations and high school attain- ments upon your future usefulness and happiness. My confidence in you prompts me to believe that you will continue to manifest learning abilities and that you will do independent thinking. History in detail, like history in general, cannot be read with accurate appraisal from too close range. Close up perspective often results in distortion. Whatever your achievements have been in- stitutionally or individually, they must await the backward looks of coming years to be revealed in true proportion. Let us hope that, in years to come, each of you can look back upon your high school days with the knowledge of,S0rr1e definite contact, some bit of information, or some new ambition or point of view which has served a useful purpose in the working out of a more abundant life. Your board of trustees, school administration, and teachers wish to congratulate you upon your com- pletion of another year of educational preparation. Your youthful vigor, sense of fair play, and inno- cent inspiration continue to give all a new challenge. Surely with a deeper appreciation and conception in common of the value of public school education, we can yet prove to the world that education does educate, and civilization does civilize.
