Dediciaton The Senior Class of Monaca High School dedicates this 1961 issue of the Acanom to the memory of the late Donald W. Reader, who was a teacher in Monaca High School for thirty-five years. Mr. Reader will always be remembered by those who knew him as having been a man of the finest Christian character, a firm but kind teacher who had the respect of everyone. Mr. Reader was interested in all school activities, but perhaps his chief interest was the Hi-Y Club. In 1927 he had organized the Monaca Hi-Y Club, and through the years he remained its sponsor. He was also a member of the faculty advisory group assisting the sponsor of the local chapter of the National Honorary Society. Early in his teaching career Mr. Reader was physical education instructor in the high school, and he remained keenly interested in the athletic program of the school. In losing Mr. Reader, we know we have lost a loyal friend. We extend our sympathy to his family and to all who knew him. Break, break, break On thy cold gray stones, O Sea. And I would that my tongue could utter The thoughts that arise in me. O, well for the fisherman's boy That he shouts with his sister at play! O, well for the sailor lad, That he sings in his boat on the bay! And the stately ships go on To their haven under the hill; But O for the touch of a vanish'd hand, And the sound of a voice that is still! Break, break, break, At the foot of thy crags, O Sea! But the tender grace of a day that is dead Will never come back to me. 4
