Individual Growth Through Service The l-li-Y, which was again spon- sored by Mr. Donald Reader, has had several activities tor the past year un- der the direction of its officers who were: Ralph Riedel, President, Dave Mateer, Vice President, and Bob Ben- nett, Secretary-Treasurer. Although the membership was small this year, all participated in the activities which included money mak- ing projects such as a tag day, a dance, and the annual Hi-Y vs. Fac- ulty basketball game. ,. Weber, chaplain. lri-Hi-Y At the beginning of the school year we inducted twenty new mem- bers at our traditional candlelight ceremony, At the Christmas party everyone brought gifts to be taken to the Child- ren's Home in New Brighton, Our service projects for the year were the selling of tags for the Mo- naca Public Library and for the Heart Fund. Barbara Lindsay and Levina Groves were chosen to represent the country of Argentina at the model United Nations Assembly at Harris- burg. The Girl's Athletic Association began the school year under the sponsorship of Miss Delores Koman, physical education instructor. We opened our athletic season with a very successful volleyball tour- nament. After our volleyball tourna- ment came bowling and basketball. On December 20, the annual for- mal, sponsored jointly by the G.A.A. and B,A.A., was held. The theme for this year's formal was Christ- mas in Disneyland. ln order to raise money, we held a dance after one of the home basket- ball game.
