ewspaper Under the sponsorship of Mr. Ralph Cantelmi, the Newspaper Club had its second successful year. Its purpose was I. To provide a legitimate outlet for stu- dent opinion. 2. To supplement the school's other activities. 3. To serve as a source of journalistic experience to those interested. The co-editors for I958-59 were Kaye Lang and John Bickerton. The staff consisted of a group of forty juniors, each of whom had a share in the work. Many interesting articles are to be found in the pages of the Tomahawk, among them interviews, student opinion polls, editorials, social and sports events, fashion notes and a popular Chit-Chat column. The organization is an International Hon- orary Society for High School Journal- ists for the purpose of encouraging and rewarding individual achieve- ment in journalism and allied fields. During the year the group held a Christmas party and attended a Rack and Roll Show in Pittsburgh. Weber, chaplain. lri-Hi-Y At the beginning of the school year we inducted twenty new mem- bers at our traditional candlelight ceremony, At the Christmas party everyone brought gifts to be taken to the Child- ren's Home in New Brighton, Our service projects for the year were the selling of tags for the Mo- naca Public Library and for the Heart Fund. Barbara Lindsay and Levina Groves were chosen to represent the country of Argentina at the model United Nations Assembly at Harris- burg.
