(ii y vy w ■ ■ CHARLES G. TUTTLE, PRINCIPAL Mr. Tuttle, a Sagittarian, was born in Flint, Michigan. His alma mater is Indiana State College at Terre Haute. His wife's name is Rosetta. They have three children. Mr. Tuttle's hobbies are travel and athletics. He has traveled widely over the United States and has also visited Canada and Mexico. He coached basketball and football for fifteen years and officiated at high school football and basketball games for a number of years. This is Mr. Tuttle’s second year at Momence. He thinks Momence is a town with many interest- ing people and businesses. He likes the kids here and thinks he has a well-rounded faculty to work with. Mr. Tuttle believes that in our fast-changing world ideas, concepts, and relationships are be- coming more important than so-called book-learning.” To the graduating seniors he says, You are going to run into problems you never ran into before. Listen and ask questions. There is always someone else who knows a little more than you do; don't be afraid to ask for advice in making de- cisions. 6

T. H. BARTHOLOMEW, SUPERINTENDENT Mr. Bartholomew, also a Sagittarian, was bom in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He received his Bachelor of Education degree from Western Illinois University and his M. A. from the University of Illinois. He lives in Momence with his wife, Judy, and they have six children. Mr. Bartholomew came to Momence in 1953. In the time that he has been here he has seen the number of faculty members more than double and the number of students increase from less than 1000 to 1900. An elementary addition and a new junior high were constructed, and a new building program is currently getting underway. Mr. Bartholomew thinks Momence is in a good location in a growing area. He would like to see more planning for future growth and greater progress toward solving the problem of youth recreation. After following the projected building program, he would like to see the current high school facilities upgraded and expanded and the curriculum offerings continue to be improved. To the graduating class Mr. Bartholomew says, You are living in one of the most interesting peri- ods in the history of the world, which likewise is a period with some of the greatest unsolved problems. You are leaving high school when the challenges were never greater. What happens in the future with these problems and progress toward solving them depends a lot on what you do.
