Prophecy Sunday is my favorite day for watching television. I had an especially interesting time yesterday. I turn- ed on the Amateur Hour first and saw SHIRLEY LE- CUYER, a talented young soprano. She wasn't bad at all. Contestant Number Two was JESSIE MARR, an acrobat. That was enough of the program. I switched to Channel 4 and saw DON ZEILENGA, emcee of Zoo Parade. Wild BILL HALLWAS is the nejct program I watched. I love cowboys so after lunch I tuned in on Cisco SANDERS. While I was glancing througlCtj e T. V. Forecast, my wife told me that CAROL SANSTROM and JANE SCHILLING were on Strike It Rich last night trying to earn money for their orphanage. My wife never misses that program although Groucho GLOW is her favorite. We decided to watch Super Circus since my son would hear of nothing else. The first act wasn't bad, a trapeze duo, MARY LOU DENTON and CLYDE BLOOMQUIST. The girl held three men in midair by her teeth while hanging by her toes. Next a weightlifter, HERB THOMPSON thrilled the audience. The next two acts, a woman swordswallower, MARGIE FITE, and a contortionist, MARGIE WARDINSKI, were too much for me. I turned off the set and took a nap. My kids woke me with their complaining that there wasn't anything on TV that they like, not on Sunday afternoon anyway. When I asked what they do like, they named Howdy Doody with RONNIE HAYHURST as emcee, JIM BARNES as Superman, and Uncle TONY BELLUSCI in Noontime Comics. Five-year-old Debbie loves RACHEL BRADLEY'S Ding Dong School while Bill Jr. likes wrestling. He told me about the fight between LOIS Strangler LARSON and BERNICE, the Battler, KINGSLEY who are the biggest enemies in ladies' wrestling. Both kids like the I Love Rosie Show starring FRED and ROSE MARIE LAUE. Another favorite is Mr. Peepers starring EARL SCHOEFFNER. After supper one of my regulars is the Ed Sullivan Show. JIM HIBBS, the man with a smile, is substituting for Ed. He had two won- derful ballet dancers in CRAIG KENNEDY and CHARLENE AUSTIN. Jim interveiwed BOB BLEYLE, coach of the first girls' professional football team. Also on the program was the world's greatest harpist, NORMA HENERBERG. Later all programs were blacked out for a speech by our President, PRISCILLA BALTHAZOR. Quite a speaker, our first lady president! at 9:30 I tuned in What's My Line. CLAR- ENCE GRAHAM, a hairdresser, was the first contestant followed by BETTY JOHNSON, a tugboat operator. The mystery guest was ALICE CLAUSSEN better known as My Friend Irma. The last contestant was GUY MORTIMER, a grave digger. At 10:00 came the nightly feature at our house, JERRY USHER, the weatherman. A movie was next up, The Love Affairs of Margaret starring FRED BORGGREN and DAVE HESS, both of whom fought for the love of MARGARET SIMPSON. Have to hit the hay now, my wife said, so I can get up and watch CLAYTON STUDER in the A to Z of Cookery and GENE DIONNE, the Reduce-to-Music Man. So ends a Sunday at the HALPIN residence.
