I entered the office and inquired as to the whereabouts of certain friends of yesteryear and was informed by Miss Hardy, the school secretary, that Mr. Hansen, the Social Science teacher, kept a complete file in which I might find this information. She accompanied me to a room at the north end of the second floor where Mr. Hansen met us and invited us in. After a few minutes of chat- ting, I asked of the whereabouts of our old friends. The following is the in- formation received jointly from Miss Hardy and Mr. Hansen:— A letter was received recently from Elaine Tabler which stated that she was recently married and is very happy. Elaine passed on the informa- tion that Robert Kinstner had contacted her recently and had borrowed a sum of money to carry on his research in the field of “Sosmis Release.” Elaine was happy the contact was made because it gives her ‘Electronics Enterprizes, Inc.’ a first grab on Kinstner’s work. Incidently, ‘Electronics Enterprizes, Inc.’ is managed by the very capable hand of the new giant in this field, Henry Giasson. Joyce Ann Wheeler, I found out, is teaching school in the elementary grades over in Bixby, Illinois. Jean Usher is teaching also: she is the owner and operator of the Usher School of Dancing. Two of the top instructors hired by Jean are Robert Rehmer and Betty Mattocks. Betty is tops in the Rhumba. Joann Camus owned the local dime store, it seems, until her marriage to a banker from Chicago. The store is now owned by Gordon Fredenberg who hired Robert Thompson to run it for him. Jane Gray is teaching dramatics at a school over in Iowa and Shirley Shoemaker is doing some work in the field of ceramics down in Arkansas. Some of Shirley’s work has appeared in exhibitions throughout the country. Dick Reyling is running a “Thrill Shew” outfit (Devil Driver—you know) appearing in carnivals and State fairs. “Reyling’s Flying Debris” I believe it is called. Some of the daredevil drivers are Eugene “Straight at ’em” Line, Virginia “Speed Demon” Shuttleworth, and Jim “Never Look” Sikma. Dick LaMotte is playing basketball with the Houston Oilers and is being considered by the owners as manager of the team next year. The Houston Oilers are the property of a big oil operator, of course. Name, Richard Franklin. Jack Peterson has been running a business locally for a number of years, thought the town needed one, so opened up a bookstore. Naomi Shuttleworth is in California and, believe it or not, she didn’t make Holly- wood—no, she is a housewife living in Los Angeles, very busy in her spare time entertaining at the local U.S.O. Speaking of U.S.O.’s recalls that even though we are in a period of peace, there are still many boys and girls in Service. Sgt. David Boudreau likes it so much that he is going to spend 30 years at it. Major Fred Garrels is a jet instructor at Elbridge Field, and Lois Sodeman is an Air Force nurse. This last bit of information comes from Ina Sidener who happened to meet Fred and Lois while carrying on in her special field. She entertains at as- sembly programs and service shows. Her act—a trained dog act. Martha Richardson is a rising young author and lives in Havana, Cuba. She is living off the royalities of her first two books, “Drift in the North” and “The Frozen Custard Murder Case”. Ruth Simpson is helping Norma Claussen with the plans for her new home. Ruth is tops among the archi- tects these days. She won first prize two years ago in the Architests of America contest ($125,000.00). Grace Bradley is very much concerned over her chances of taking an- other first this year at the National Livestock Show. She has taken a first and a second the last two years, you know, with her prize corn. Mary Cote and Carole Howk are running a weekly newspaper down in Brown County, Indiana. It might be that Carole is becoming interested in politics also. She is running for representative to the Indiana General Assembly. Marvin Wilson is a professional golfer and his most recent prize was first place in the $15,000.00 Exline Open. Ray Johnson is a Lieutenant Commander in the U. S. Coast Guard and was on a television program with Gary Scanlon where both were honored. Johnson for his work in the storms off the New England Coast last year and Scanlon for his work at the Bridgefield Atomic Energy Experimental Laboratory where he uncovered a sensational plot to blow up every atomic research center in the Midwest. Stanley Ostrow is pitching baseball for Rock Island in the Three I League. His record last year was 17-4. He might be going up. Robert Wilson, a utility infielder with the same team, is a swimming instructor at the University in the off season. Virginia Smith is in Hollywood—Hollywood, Florida, where she raises celery commercially. Donald Schafroth is back in Chicago working in the Public Relations Office of the Chicago Chamber of Commerce. Jean Fields is currently appearing at the old Royal Palace in Chicago in the prizewin- ning play, “The State of Mankind.” This play now is in its eleventh month. It was written by a newcomer, Roland DeYoung. Irene Case is at present traveling abroad where she is gathering infor- mation relative to foreign spending. Irene, as you know, is congresswoman from the 77th District of Illinois. Joyce Liberty has a half hour program over station W.R.M.F. called “Calling All Brides.” Helen Block originals are the latest in fashion. Yes, Helen is in business for herself as a dress designer. Mary Carpenter is a Civil Service Employee in the Defense Department, has something to do with manpower. Joan Prairie is running a 2000 acre farm south of town and her crops, mostly cucumbers and tomatoes, are normally consigned for shipment to the Yohnka Products Company. Yes, sir! Owned and operated by Charles Yohnka. My time is up, and after a few more minutes talking with my old friends, I bid goodbye to Miss Mary Hardy and Mr. Danny Hansen and leave the hall of good old M.C.H.S. (Munyonville Community High School). As I leave the little community in northeastern Illinois called Munyon- ville (established in 1955 by Bill Munyon) I think back and realize that time has done quite a lot for the old gang of the class of 1952. So long, Munyonville. So long, Gang. Good Luck to you all, I’ll be seeing you later. Bye. Top Row—P. Barnes, D. Baechler, D. Denton, R. Clifton, R. Funderburgh, R. Bennett, B. Tripp, C. Wahl, B.
