Atherton Cooke. When “Cooke” was born everybody said, “He ain’t much”, but thus far he seems to have worried along on three squares and a package of Lucky Strikes per day. By increasing his allotment he may arrive some day. Genola Walker. Genola is “up in the air” most of the time by virtue of her height, and goes higher still when someone mentions her in connection with Windy Wilson. Says what she thinks and believes what she says. Leroy Clawson. Leroy is another one of those rare birds who are long on deportment ; how some people can pull the wool over their teacher’s eyes! Ruth Benjamin. Ruth is somewhat “ham¬ mered down” but she has a lot of pep and manages to get there just the same. Notice that ever-present grin.
