Fire The bonfire blazes as Coach Schrader thinks about the upcoming game. Frank Kajdacsi anxiously awaits for the start of the night's festivities. MHS cheerleaders lift spirits high. s S .... For the Hrst time in many years, the bon- fire was held on schedule without any rain delays. The MHS bonfire is held each year before the first home football game to get everyone spirited about it. The bonfire date was September 5, the Thursday before the game against Downer's Grove. ' The MHS Pep band performed a variety of spirited songs. All of the cheerleaders were on hand to lead cheers, and Mr. Schwab spoke on the subject of school spir- it. The varsity football players were an- nounced, and the dummy of a Downer's Grove player was thrown into the flames. Some students are influenced by rock-stars, actors, or athletes, while others choose a non-con- formist style of fashion. Clothing and the hair trends range from the normal to the unique . Every student at MHS has a different personality revealed when choosing clothes or hairstyles. Being different is the accepted thing this year as far as clothes are concerned. This was the year that the Forenza threat- ened to overrun MHS. V-neck sweaters of every size, shape and color were seen daily. What was worn with the sweaters showed great variety. Oversized shirts, turtlenecks, and T-Shirts were all popular candidates. Cropped pants were also big this year at MHS. Paisley prints and big flowers were hot. jeans of every length, color or pattern were worn at MHS. Most girls wore short hair while many guys favored long hair in the back.
