The addiTion of 694 freshman and 114 new Teachers, resuITing from The Moline School Board's decision To close Calvin Coolidge junior high, broughT wiTh iT more crowded hallways and classrooms, Many classes consisTed of more Than ThirTy sTudenTs This year, and almosT every locker was occupied. ln order To accomodaTe The increased number of sTudenTs. The class schedule was sTaggered This year wiTh many upperclassmen having classes from 8:00 To 2:30 and mosT freshmen aTTending class from 9:00 To 3:30. The addiTion of freshman To MHS broughT wiTh iT many advonTages To oTfseT The crowdedness. Freshmen parTlcipaTed in various school ocTiviTies, making many clubs and organizaTions more acTive, as well as adding To our aThleTic Teams. STudenT Congress was able To expand This year, and provide The enTire sTudenT body wiTh more services. Even Though we were bursTing wiTh new sTudenTs This year, The enTlre sTudenT body has profiTed from The change.
