jlfwbs li Miata Iiaign. alaagiia The purpose of the Foreign Language Week was to promote the study of foreign language and to get stu- dents involved in activities related to foreign language. The classes of each language-Spanish, French, Ger- man, and Latin-had one specific day to promote their respective language. Some of the activities include bakesales, display cases, and a week-long contest to see who could guess closest to the correct number of macaroni in a jar. In addition, each language hung signs naming the different parts of the building. The week climaxed with a Grand Finale in the auditorium. 1. Spanish Club members- Tammi Avery, Sue Bjurstrom, Marilyn Sneed, Roxanne Clausen, Ginger Kiser, and Ann Noppe- perform a Mexican dance called La Raspa in Friday's Grand Finale. 2. Jane Engels' display of Mexican artifacts. 3. Mr. Hagberg uses the qua- dratic formula to determine the number of macaroni in the jar. 4. Big Bird, the pinata, hangs triumphantly in the library. 5. In her hungry haste, Sue Wood has trouble finding her mouth. 6. Joni Mudgett and Angie Carothers working hard at the French Club bake sale??? 7. me Q l .. may tg Leaml Working on Student Day can be a headache at times, but it's a good experience. The day itself is worth it all if everyone is having a good time. -Steve Carlson Student Day is a day that takes patience, determination, and a lot of working together to get it organized. Once it's organized and put all together the result is great! - Kris Haezebroeck The ,days were long and the nights were short and at times it seemed as if we would never make it. But thanks to all the hard working students and the patience and encouragment of the faculty, we made it. A special thanks to Mr. Bushman for helping to keep everyone sane. - Heidi Watkins One of my fondest memories of M.H.S. is Student Day, and l'm proud to have been a part of it. - Tammy Hackett 22 Student Day i A ,fwfr ' , . -'fw,.,w+ '
