IUNIOR OFFICERS President - - ---- MAX WEBB Vice-President - - EARL SWITZER Secretary - - - DONA BUMBARGER Treasurer - - - - - ADDIS FRICK Executive Committeeman - - LORETTA KEETON Advisors ---- - MRS. TAYLOR MISS SMITH MAX WEBB EARL SWITZER DONA BUMBARGER ADDIS FRICK IUNIOR CLASS HISTORY There were ninety of us frightened but eager Freshmen who entered Molalla Union High School in September, 1941. We were spared much of the discomforts of initiation as this feature had become too boisterous and had to be banned for the duration at least. The first year had many pleasant experiences and little was expected of us aside from our studies. However, we made a good showing on the Honor Roll and in sports also. For our Freshman officers we elected Etzel Philpot, president, Audrey Daniels, vice-president, Venita Eby, secretary-treasurer, Lelia Arlin, executive committeeman. We survived many jokes at our expense and thought we would never out-grow the title rooks. When we entered school again, as Sophomores, we were relieved to find that we were no longer considered green and that the upper classmen treated us with more respect. As our Sophomore officers we elected Max Webb, president, Wilbur Miller, vice-president, Phyllis Wallace, secretary-treasurer, Lois Gottwald, executive committeeman. We were well represented in activities-band, sports, orchestra, and organizations. We had en- tered our Iunior year with the feeling that we not only were of more importance and received more respect, but also that our responsibilities were greater and that our atti- tudes and viewpoints had become more mature and serious. Our officers this year are: Max Webb, president, Earl Switzer, vice-president, Laura May Hoss, secretary, Addis Frick, treasurer, Loretta' Keeton, executive committeeman. The highlights of this year were the ice-skating party that the Iuniors gave the Seniors, the Iunior Class Play pre- sented under the able direction of Mrs. Taylor. Those who have been most often on the Honor Roll are: Lois Gottwald, Iune Polack, Laura May Hoss, Iean Wallace, Eloise lack- son, Earl Switzer, Colleen Southwell, Beverly Vorpahl, Marcus Sawyer, Virginia Wilson, Ieanette De La Mater, Addis Frick, Verlyn Kraxberger, Evelyn Weaver, and Phyllis Wallace. The boys representing us in sports are: Robert Moore, Earl Switzer, Kenneth Stafford, Verlyn Kraxberger, Kay Wilson, lack Ballah, Max Webb, George Weigle, Ed Krohn, Milo Schoenborn, Marcus Sawyer, Roland Glade, Eddie Fritz, and Lawrence Iensen.
