O P F I Q E R 5 EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE CDR EJ. POUGI-IT Commander Fought is a native of Toler, Kentucky, and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1970. After commissioning, he was assigned to USS EU- GENE A. GREENE QDD-7111 as Communications Officer and later assumed the duties of Combat information Center Officer. In july 1972, he reported to Staff, Com- mander Destroyer Squadron THIRTY-TWO where he served as Operations Officer. Upon completion of the Department Head course at the Naval Destroyer School in Newport, Rhode Island, Commander Fought served as Operations Officer in USS BADCER iFF-1071i and then as the Engineering Officer in USS ii.-XRLAN COUNTY KLST-11961. He was then as-signed as the New Construc- tion Placement Officer at the Surface 'Ship Platement Branch of Naval Military Personnel Command, Wash- ington, DC. This tour was followed hy attendance at the Armed Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia and suh sequent duty as Executive Officer in U55 BRIHC Ufi IDUs 9771. From there, Commander fought served in the Huis face Combatant Branch of the Surface Warfare Division for the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Fiurfati- Warfare, after which he attended the National War Cul lege in Washington, DC, graduating in Iuni- 10:-to il-i assumed the duties as MOINESTER s Lommanding t if ficer on 2 February 1087. Commander fought s personal awards and decorations include the Meritorious 'ii-rvite Medal, the Navy Commendation Mi-dal twith twii Ciold Stars in lieu of subsequent awards! and the Navy Achievement Medal. He is married to the former Liail Keesee of Randsom, Kentucky.
