EXECUTIVE OFFICER Lieutenant Commander Vaughn G. ivlahaffey was born in Aubois, Pennsylvania on De- cember 18, 1947. Following graduation from Clarion State College in 1969, he entered Offi- cer candidate school in Newport, Rhode Island, and was commissioned Ensign on May 13, 1971. Lieutenant Commander Mahaffey has served at sea in various assignments, including duty aboard USS Oday QSS-4847, USS Cobbler CSS- 344J, and USS Clamagore CSS-3431. Since transferring from submarine service, he has served aboard USS Thomas C. Hart QPF-10927, USS Garcia QPF-10403, and USS Charleston CLKA-1131.
