I Then STanford Universify for Two lines. I spenT a week aT The wiTh The Morans, who are my In The Tirsf few weeks, I had some cusfoms. When I eaT soup aT To change This affer I came mosf of Them delicious I some pizza aT a parTy. and flew To New Y friends of The family. I had found I firsf aTe In SepTember, I began To go To The Episcopal Church, Though I used To go To The PresbyTerian Church in Japan. I have been enjoying American life aT school and oufside of school. The mosT memorable day was Chrisfmas, when I wenT from house To house wiTh some of my friends To sing Chrisfmas carols. The hardesT problem I have had here is The difficulfy of English. Speaking and hearing English was as hard for me as reading English, even up To almosf Three monThs afTer school began. For The firsT couple of monThs I worked more Than Tour hours a day on homework, mosTIy because of The lack of abilify To read English. I belong To The YMCA and The Boys Club, where I pracfice baskefball. AT school I belong To Model U.N., Drama Club, and The Volleyball Team. In The senior class play I play The parf of an old- Japanese villager who speaks English, while several American sTudenTs speak Japanese in The play. This I find very humorous. In Japan I live wifh my fafher, my moTher. and my brofher. My fafher is a sales represenTaTive for a manufacfurer of golf equipmenf. My moTher is a housewife and my brofher is in The sixTh grade of an elemenfary school. I learned English boTh in school and from my uncle who is an assisTanT professor aT ST. Paul Universify in happy To reTurn home o ' Tokyo. I shall ecause f 'Sng life in America has been enjoyable, I shall regret leaving. And so, Sayonara. I02
