VARSITY BASKETBALL The 195263 Mohawk High School basketball squad had, as an overfall record, 12 wins and 6 losses. Their drive and stamina enabled them to finish as M.M.V.l. champions for the second consecutive year. This year also marked Mohawk's first season in the new Iroquois League, in which our warriors copped third place honors. Only Norwich and Qneonta topped Mohawk as the season came to a close. Next year Coach Thornton's hoopmen will have another crack at the Iroquois championship, however, they'll be shooting for it without the assistance of Lyman Hall, Ronnie March, Dick Francisco, and George Baron, the four seniors who worked consistently with their teammates to make the '52753 basketball season a successful one for Mohawk. Whether or not next year's material will develop into a championship team is still unpredictable. We can be sure, however, that they will do all in their power to uphold Mohawk's reputation as a hardfworking, cleanfplaying team. Who could ask for more? 13
