Board of Education Alfred Swerlein, Neil H. Adams, Eleanor Spellerberg, President, Dr. Kenneth E. Bertler Robert Way, Vice-President. Members of the class of 1971, your educational program at Mohawk has given you the rules and the tools for what you want to be and for what you can be. Your success depends upon your wise use of what you have learned. Be master of yourself. Allow no thought nor deed to injure your mind or body. We are proud, and you should be proud, that you are a graduate of Mohawk Schools. Best wishes for success and happiness to the grad- uates of 1971! James W. Smith Superintendent John Downs Clerk of the Board

Graduating students - lf you have provided the effort and worked to the limit of your ability during the past twelve years, then you should approach the future with confidence and without fear. Additional learning experiences are ahead for you the remainder of your life. Each experience can be referred to as a small step up the path to a happy and successful life. Remember - when you stop learning, you stop living. If you have not taken advantage of the opportunities that have been provided, then now is the time for you to change the pattern. Your future could be cloudy but ef- fort and ambition can overcome many of the hardships that you will face. Keep in mind that one's whole life span can be divided into two main areas--learning to live and living to learn. To the class of 1971 - Advice is the easiest thing in the world to give but - be true to yourselves. Strive for what you believe. You have been given the basic fundamentals on which to build your future. lt is now your task, through the gathering of experiences to shape the future of the nation. Build what you will - but be aware that another genera- tion is to follow and it will be your position to explain to it what is was you attempted to do. Sincerely, Fred D. Williams Richard A. Verhoff . .. I MW My aim is threefold: To help Mohawk High School students, through the use of various tests, orientations and interviews, to choose the subjects that will provide them with the academic back- ground that will permit them to follow the vocation of their choice. To help young people explore the difficult fields of education, training and work for the years after grad- uation. To be available f0r the same kind of help to young people after graduation. To all past, present and future Mohawk students - The world of work is wide and long, do something you enjoy. Most of all be a good citizen. Sincerely, Mr. D. J. West
