Remember me when no more day by day You tell me of our future that you planned: Only remember meg you understand lt will be late to counsel then or pray. Yet if you should forget me for a while And afterwards remember, do not ugrieve: For if the darkness and corruption leave A vestige of the thoughts that once l had, Better by far you should forget and smile Than that you should remember and be sad. Some of you have gained numerous awards during your four years at Mohawk and yet many of you have gone through the years with little or no recognition. You have only the satisfaction of knowing that it was u job well done. However, don't be content to rest on past per- formance. Remember, it is not what you have done that is important but rather what you will do. Each of you has brought credit to Mohawk High School, its faculty and administration as well as your parents, as graduates. Our 1968 football season at Mohawk was first met with disappointment at Pleasant. However, the follow- ing week brought us an exciting second half against Wynford when we came from a 12-O deficit to win 18-12 in the last seconds of the game. The confidence and team spirit gained from this game gave our team aboostwhich led us to a success- ful 4--3-2 season after being picked to finish last in the conference. Our last two ballgames matched us with the first and second placed teams in our league. Our deter- mined squad proved its place in a close and exciting game with Riverdale and a tie with Carey. Among our 19 lettermen we were fortunate to have an All Ohio fullback, Verne Shellhouse. We 4 hope this tradition will be followed by other Mohawk ball players of the future. Our 36 squad members of 1968 will long be re- membered for their hard work, exciting ball games, and most of all that never-die attitude. With a core of 10 returning lettermen we look ahead to a success- ful 1969 season.
