Coacli Weller, .lolin Cochran, Statisticians Vic-ki Klein, Nancy Allm-1' Sue Needham, Lois Slomun The basketball season of 1967-63 was a different one to understand. Our boys had the potential to beat any team in the conference as was proven against league co-champ, Elgin. We just couldnit get all of our assets working together on the same night. The assets that have to be going for you consistently are defense, passing, shooting and being able to co-ordinate the offense as a single unit. When a team does these consist- ently, they will be a consistent winner. The athletes of Mohawk will have to understand that playing a sport just for the sake of playing will not make this school a winner. If that were the only purpose of the game, then I doubt very much if there would be much gained in sports. When the boys of Mohawk have learned to play a sport well, they have acquired some valuable traits that will carry over into life. After all, there is not much difference in the character traits we must possess to succeed in different walks of life. The principles you must follow in sports are principles you must follow in any worth- while undertaking. Coach Weller
