This year the F. H, A, selected for its theme Hi Neighbor which emphasized getting along with people around the world. As a Christmas project the club sent a gift of money to a needy Japanese child. At one meeting a guest speaker showed slides of her visit to J apan. The Japanese theme was also carried out in the annual style show. A mother-daughter tea was held with the eighth grade girls and their mothers as guests. Holmes Liberty Chapter was also guests of the club. OFFICERS President .... .. Vice-President , . The year's activities began by the group attending a baseball game atCleveland.Several members showed at the county fair and the chapter received Grand Champion on their float. The Mohawk Chapter won the county softball tournament. Some other fall activities were, the pest hunt, calendar sales, and the annual Father and Son Rabbit Supper. One member attended the National Convention at Kansas City. In the Freshman-Sophomore Parliamentary Procedure Contest the Mohawk Chapter received a gold rating and the J unior-Senior Contest the Chapter received not only a gold rating but first in the county. Medard Ruehle and ConradHufford received first and third place, respectively in the prepared speech public speaking contest. Medard also won first in the district contest and has yet to participate in the state con- test. Bill Cramer won third place in the extemporaneous contest. The Annual Awards Banquet was held on April '7 with about 175 in attendance. The Chapter received a gold medal from the state for its program of activities. OFFICERS President .... . . ...... . .
