The Bears fielded a large team but the aggressiveness of the Bulldogs on defense proved to be the difference, with Micky McAnally playing outstanding offensive and defensive football. Final score: Craig 6 - Rifle 0, Steamboat The first conference game of the season was played at night under the Craig lights. The game was played in cold rain and snow. The Craig offense was clicking better than at Rifle, scoring three touchdowns. Stoddard, fleet Craig quarterback, skirted end for two touchdowns behind a wall of blue blockers. Final score: Craig 20 - Steamboat 0. Glenwood Springs And then came Glenwood at Glenwood. The spirited Glenwood Gridders and Conference Champions downed Craig in a one-sided game with Craig never threatening. The loss of several key men out of the line-up, because of injuries, was probably the difference. Final score: Glenwood 24-Craig 0. Hayden The Craig Bulldogs journeyed to Hayden where they gained revenge on a lighter Hayden team. The game was played in a sea of mud. Petersen, Craig halfback, proved to be a hard man for Hayden to stop that afternoon. He ran for three touchdowns. Final score: Craig 37 - Hayden 0. Oak Creek In another night game at Craig the Bulldogs and the Miners clashed. The Miners team ran hard but the fast T formation plays of the Bulld0gS Were L1I1St0ppablC. Chuck Cline the right end for Craig took his turn in the backfield. HC f00k on 21 pass for a touchdown and ran for two more. Final score: Craig 33-Oak Creek 0. Green River An intersectional clash with the favored Green River, Wyoming, team was the highlight of the season. The game was a nip and tuck affair with Green River threatening at the end of the first half. The second half showed a change of spirit as the Bulldogs, on a sustained 72-yard drive, tore yawning gaps in the Wolves line. The touchdown resulted from a Stod- dard to Cline pass. Final score: Craig 6-- Green River 0, Meeker llnder the worst possible playing conditions, the Craig Bulldogs ended the season with a 6 to O victory over the Meeker Cowboys. The touchdown resulted from a blocked kick which was re- covered in the end zone by Glen Sherman. Final score: Craig 6- Meeker 0. T The team was well coached under the able direction of J. R. Tweed. The season was considered a success with six wins and one upset. 42 Back Row Carrol Baese Chuck Clme john Lrvmgston jrm Avgares Olrver Rand jack Reust Paul Talkrngton Mrddle Row Nell McCandless jack Doores joe Stoddard Joe Sheppard Darwrn Dunn Marvrn Lyons Front Row Kenneth Teter Tommy 'nur' Xwufg sg Marvrn Lyons jrm Avgares Newton Dresel Bud Mack Petersen Bob Wright Loren Acllfmger Harry Frontz Glen Sher man Dean Gent -If KMZQYH 'Vw Glen Sherman Darwxn Dunn O Harry james John Lrvrngston 44 T 1 . l - l 1 . 7 V !
