They have visited Grant's Tomb, and Cincin- nati's Art Museum just to mention a few. A trip to Chicago during the summer has also been planned. The History Club has also brought many inter- esting individuals here to speak in school as - semblies throughout the year. There it was developed and discussed with the help of a few other students who organized the first publication. Mr. Mike Pennock, with his background in journalism, was asked to moderate the paper helping to make it a success. The Juniors were the only division that had a newspaper to express their own views ; how- ever, the Seniors did have the 4-D NINER which caused much enjoyment as well as excitement. tLEFT TO RIGHTi: Cris Pruden Jim Flick EDITOR: Dennis Reidmiller Hal Rushe .m m e d a C A IS It John Sweeney, Don Fritz $EFT TO RIGHTy Steve Ashbrock, Drake Tollefson, Big Brothers The Big Brothers of Moeller is not an or- dinary club, at least, not to a certain group of orphans at St. Aloysius. During the latter part of August, the Moeller safety council was responsible for painting the entire parking lot. They held the first road rally of the year on October 5 with Loveland and Mt. Notre Dame. During the following two weeks, the GCSL was put in charge of the parking for the fall festival, and 0f the Home coming Parade. On March 8, 1970, the Moel- ler GCSL unit held a second road rally with Ursuline Academy. Also Moeller has contri buted to much of the paper work of the entire league. Many of the students of the league have con- tributed greatly to the GCSL in individual ef- forts. Among these are Mark Schuster, who designed the GCSL float for the St. Patrick's Day Parade, and Steve Kolkmeyer who was one of the main organizers for the same parade. Kevin Martin held one of the highest positions in the league as Vice-president of Traffic Op erations. Dave Hildebrandt worked on much of the technical and paper work for the league. The Speech and Debate Team, moderated by Bro. Joseph Clark and Mr. James Crone, had another fantastic season participating in many tournaments and bringing home nine trophies and thirty-one ribbons. The senior team, including Capt. Steve Si- mendinger, Co-Capt. Joe Budd, Dave Marcus, and John Sweeney, participated in the Ohio High School District Tournament qualifying them for debate in the National F orensic Lea- gue Districts. They took part in debates at Fairmont East, Upper Arlington, and Newark. Senior Dan Sedmak also gave great deliveries in oratorical declamation. The Junior brought honor to Moeller through debate, extemporaneous speaking, and origin- al oratory. Mike Heitzman received awards in the catagory of original oratory and Gregg Swinarski made outstanding achievements in extemporaneous speaking. Sophomores Mark Fette, Norbert Schutte, and Robert Weber and Freshmen Tim Morand, Don Sabastianelli, Terrance Stecz, and Robert Vieson were also outstanding in their special categories of Speech and Debate. The huge success of this play spurred many viewers to come to the troupe's spring production of The Odd Couple written 87 by Neil Simon. Also, the players sent a One -ACt Play entitled Take Care of Business to the Princeton Acting Tournament Which received ratings of good, fair and excellent from three separate judges. The members held their first meetings at the Student Center in Clifton, where ideas were brought forth and goals were formed. Several meetings were held during the summer of 1969 but things didn't really start moving until the fall when school started. TOUCH was responsible for student masses, helped with Sophomore and Freshman retreats, worked at Hospitals, and tried to promote a christian atmosphere here at Moeller. This group has indeed contributed a sincere service to the school and the community. The Catholic Student Mission Crusuade tC. S. M. C. t was very active this year in trips to Appal- achia helping the poor build hous es and cleaning the area around them. They also went downtown to Millville tHousing Projeco taking the neighborhood children on picnics and to the 200. We con- gratulate them for their good works and Moeller Christian Spirit. 89 Intramural Bowling Dave Bucket, Bill Obermeyer, Doug Montgomery, Chris Cusiak, Andy Lauderback, Roy Schinkert, Jeff Purtee, Tim Kelly, Bob Johnstone, Tom Everhart, Tom Mescher, Dennis Lynch, Mark Schwind, Greg Lynch, Jim Siciliano, Greg Schwartz, Mike Doerger, Tom Borchers, Tim Sedmak, Don Holland, Bill Greiner, Bill Rahe, Doug Foppe.
