Those who have had Mr. Bennett as a teacher will always remember his kind and helpful manner which made him a friend not to be forgotten. Serving Modesto High for 21 years before his re- tirement last year, Mr. Bennett helped to raise the interest in science as a teacher of biology, as well as being a faithful supporter of Modesto High School. Modesto High School will always treasure the memory of Mr. Bennett as he walked away from our school with his hat on and his briefcase in his hand, ready to be of help whenever needed. 4 0 Curricular For more,than 75 years, the administration and faculty of Modesto High School have been an uni- fied force working to keep the cogs of progress functioning properly. This spirit of unity has been a definite factor in the rapid development and growth of curricular activities. The farsightedness of the Board of Education, the principal's guidance, the accurate work of the office staff, the conscientious work of the cafeteria staff and the.custodians, and the unceasing effort of the faculty have all contributed to the present curricular program of Modesto High School. To these people who have given their time and effort to improve and advance the curricular structure, the student body offers its sincere thanks. Pictured is Modesto High School in 1909 at 13th and L Streets. This building was later changed to Roosevelt Junior High School. Page 5
