Practical knowledge is tau ht at MHS Among the subjects which offer practical training and experience to students are first aid, driver education, and driver training. Driver education is a subject required by the State of California and offered to students after their freshman year. It teaches students the current traffic laws and good driving practices. The teacher is Mr. Robert Wcxtml- dridge. Driver training, taught by Mr. Carl Phoenix, gives students experience in the actual operation of an automobile. It is not a required course. Students are eligible for driver training after they have completed the course in driver education or while they are taking driver education. Wlien a student com- pletes driver training, he is eligible for a drivers license at the age of fifteen and a half instead of the usual age of sixteen.
