Speaking of discoveries, that great scientist, CLAUDE Einstein HORN, has been working on a solution which he calls Growumtall.,' This solution is the greatest thing since the discovery of Hadacol back in 1950. Claude claims that it will make anybody, even SARA XVILSON, grow tall. Claude chose ODUS CHAFFIN to be his sales manager, but I happen to know that Growumtall is not what made Odus grow tall! By the way-Sara is now married and is living on a big dairy farm near Cool Springs. I saw JOE FEREBEE the other day, he's a Methodist preacher now, you know, and he said he had been holding a revival in South America. He said while he was in Florida, he noticed this swanky and very alluring restaurant, so he decided that he would splurge-a plate lunch costs 55.89. QI guess that's the truth, he told me so, and he's a preacher.j Despite the cost he ate there at that restaurant. DORIS COOK came out to wait on him. From what he said she must have really been ustarched and pressed. Of course she had to be neat to keep up with the appearance of everything else around there. loe admits that he really had a good meal, so good in fact, that he asked to meet the proprietor of the place to get some of the secrets to take home to his wife. When the proprietor finally wended his way through to Joe, it was none other than CORNELL ALLEN. Cornell told him that the secret really wasn't his, but it was LOIS COLLINS', his head dietitian. Lois got her start back at Mocksville in home economics. There's where she planned her first meal. Lois gave Joe the recipes free, because he was an old school mate of hers. Joe then took a bus from Tampa, Florida, to South America. This was made possible by the erection of a new bridge. fThey say that GUY HARTMAN figured out exactly how this bridge was to be built.j When Joe got on the bus, the driver was none other than JOE ANN ALLEN. She says that she really likes driving that bus- it's so much easier than driving a school bus. Speaking of Guy Hartman, since he has completed his masterpiece, the bridge, he has built a new mansion. CHESTER JAMES, the great interior decorator, designed Guy's home and it is said to be perfect in every detail. They say Guy certainly is a gentleman of leisure now. He has a maid, a cook, and a nurse to take care of the kids. He employed JUDY SLATE to keep his booksg she has him booked with so much profit, that the income-tax people collect about S5000 a year from him. ANN POSTON is married, settled down, and she now has one girl in college who is on the famous Latham's Louisiana Lancers basketball team. NANCY LATHAM is their coach. They have captured oodles of trophies. I guess Latham must be as good at coaching as she was at playing. Well, what will happen next? Even farming is easy now! MADELINE RICHARDSON, our county farm extension worker, told me the other day that they had radar-controlled tractors with attachments that will simply do anything from milking cows to planting a flower garden. She told me that HENRY BOGER already has one. He just sits on his front porch and touches the button that causes something- goodness knows, I don't know what-anyway things get done in no time at all and with practically no effort. His cost him only S7,637. Cheap, I think. I heard the other day that MAXINE GRIFFITH had won the state typing contest for this year of 1970, and due to popular demand, she is now writing a new book called Typing Techniques. When the book is finished, Koontz and Anderson Printing Co., will be the publishers. This is a relatively new printing company. One of our former classmates, DOROTHY ANDERSON, is a co-owner. Well, bouncing butterflies, my paper just came and the headlines say that RUBY NELL EVERHART has been elected Governor of New York to replace Thomas E. Dewey. That was some campaign she waged, wasn't it? She nearly went broke buying cigars. Gosh, Jean, I expect I'd better hang up-my boss may come back from lunch anytime now. Here he comes right now! Well, so long, Sis! Bye- MAXINE SMITH, Prophet
