Alice Gardner, a young radio writer, goes to Holbrook Manor, a deserted old mansion on a country road owned by her fiance, Steve Holbrook, in order to complete an important radio script in surroundings of peace and quiet. She is accompanied by her maid, jasmine. Instead of finding Holbrook Manor quiet and deserted as they had expected, Alice and Jasmine discover that it is peopled by the strangest collection of Nuts ever gathered under one roof, including Hitler, Mussolini, Queen Eliza- beth, Pocahontas, and Rockefeller. They are under the care of Dr. Lawson, a strange psychiatrist, and Mrs. Egg, the sinister housekeeper. Glenn is a young man who claims to be crazy, but who can be exceedingly sane at times. What all these people are doing at Holbrook Manor is part of the mystery that unfolds as the play continues. Alice and jasmine become involved in a spy ring, and their lives are in great danger. This all comes to a happy ending and adds up to two solid hours of hilarious entertainment. Henry and George Breckenridge, cousins and great spendthrifts, are financially embarrassed, definitely, when their landlady, Mrs. Lennox, demands a deposit on their long-overdue rent. Managing to make a deposit, they are forced to entertain two girl friends in their apartment to save money, but they must have a chaperon. P-Sam, the colored boy, finds a wig and a black dress, which make a disguise for George, the chaperon. The girls' maid, Delicia, hits it off perfectly with P-Sam. The girls make a hit with Grandma and Henry, but humorous complications arise when it is found there has been no real chaperon during the week-end. The curtain falls on an extremely funny evening's entertainment with prospects of three sets of wedding bells ringing out-or three sets of necks wrung!
