LCDR H. W. GEHMAN JR. USN EXECUTIVE OFFICER A graduate of Permsylvania State Univer- sity, where he received a B.S. degree in In- dustrial Engineering in 1965, and was com- missioned as an Ensign in the Navy. LCDR Gehman subsequently served as DCA and MPA on the USS ENGLISH DD-696. In November of 1967 he relieved as Officer in Charge of PCF-27, a Swift Boat stationed in Danang River, Viet Nam. He next attended Naval Destroyer School and upon graduation in September of 1969, was assigned to the USS JOHN KING DDG-3 as En- gineering Officer. He a s s um e d his present billet as Executive Officer of the MITSCHER in April of 1971.

' After duty in the operations department of the USS FRANCIS H. ROBINSON EDE-220, he served first as Combat Information! Center!E1ectronics Material Officer and then as Operations Officer in the USS B ASIL O NE DDE-824. Following an assignment as advisor to the 22nd River Assault Group, Republic of Vietnam Navy, he commanded the USS ALBA- TROSS MSC-289. Subsequent tours of duty in- clude Executive Off i c e r of the USS HOOPER LCDR. F. J. BARNES Ill, USN CUMMANDING OFFICER DE- 1026 and Executive O ffi c e r of th e USS BROOKE DEG-1. LCDR. BARNES r e p o r t to MITSCHER from Paris, where he attended the Ecole Superieure de Guerre Navale and the Cour s Superieur Intermees. He is a native of Rich- mond, Virginia.
