,Inj is X- 1 . 1, 1 r ,itll ,limi YL' Li r 'V' -Q 51 Student Receives, Technical Training in Agriculture The Agricultural Marketing and Management program is designed to give the student more technical training in the various aspects of agriculture so he can return home and efficiently operate the farm, ranch or work as a technician in an agricultural related business in a farming community. The first week of school, the Ag classes sponsored a picnic to get everyone acquainted. During the fall and winter, they participated in intremural basketball and volleyball. While taking courses on raising hogs and cattle, the classes toured the different farms around Mitchell viewing the different methods of raising them. Many ideas were acquired when touring. They went to judg- ing schools in Huron and won second place in the horse judging class. They also helped with the Mitchell Area Ag Expo. The second year students have been taking trips to the National Livestock Show in Denver for the past three years. Various field trips to observe different farming operations of related businesses also help on our + program to increase our knowledge of modern agriculture. The last quarter of the year was spent on overhauling and tuning up small engines. To break the monot- ony of school, the two ag classes sponsored a 50's dance which was a great success.
