History of Cnr Class Our class entered the threshold of Mitchell lligh School with ll7 members. Me regret that we have only 52 left out of our original number. On November lo, 1941, we were all very sorry to hear that Madge Smith, one of our classmates. had been fatally injured in an automobile accident. Uncle Sam has also taken his quota of our boys. VVe have eleven boys who like to swim and like the smell of salt water, so they are in the Navy. Three boys prefer khaki to navy blue. so they are doing their bit in the Army. That leaves two other sky-minded boys, James Fox and Mike Quigley, who were taken from our class this year to become members of the Air Corps. Eleven of our members have moved, nineteen have quit school, and Dan Cupid's arrow has struck the hearts of seventeen of them. XYe won the Homecoming Queen Contest three consecutive years, and among our other celebrities were the basketball players: Raymond Tanksley, David Deckard. Vvayne Mayden, Mike Quigley, and Dewey Magner. The Junior-Senior Prom was tops in entertainment. From experience, we know the work, the suspense. the thrills, and the fun that this reception provides. Even though we have had difficulty in keeping our members, we are sure we still have one of the greatest classes that has ever graduated from Mitchell High School.
