The place was noT very roomy and was compleTely wiThouT cheer: We could only see The cigar smoke We could only smell The beer. When inTo The room came a sailor in a manner raTher crude and greeTed The gaThered paTrons wiTh words'raTher rude. We knew The cad was Trouble as he sTood There wiTh a sneer and pulled a kniTe Trom his pockeT and cuT oTT a Tellow's ear. Someone began To holler, Someone began To shouT For Benny The barroom bouncer To Take care oT This louT. lnTo The hall came Benny, a big and sT.urdy mick: The sailor Took a look aT Benny and knew This was The one To lick. Onward he charged The bouncer wiTh a greaT and TearTul roar, BuT Benny grabbed his collar and heaved him ouT The door.
