INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS CLUB A11 -1 11- The International Relations has as its purpose the promotion of student interest in domestic and foreign affairs. It also seeks to increase understanding of the customs, historical evolu- tion, and political institutions of the various nations of the World. To achieve these purposes in the past year, the club has pre- sented a series of films and lectures on topics ranging from the outstanding BBC film, Viet Nam-journal of a War: to an informative discussion on the United Nation conducted by Dr. Louis I-Iallas. In addition to its lecture and film series, the club conducted a joint Presi- dential Primary and Student Opinion Survey. The International Relations Club also performs many public services. Among those per- formed during the past year were the sponsoring of a suc- cessful benefit dance for the World University Service and the delegation of speakers from Mitchell College to the local elementary schools on United Nations Day. muu. va.: J - 4. - -X - - , The Mitchell College Chorus, while not exactly a club, is not exactly a full credit course either, since students receive one academic credit for a semester of participation. The Chorus' principle performance of the year is fl joint concert with the nurses from Lawrence and Memorial Hospital during the Christmas season. They rehearse in the auditorium at noon three days a week and on occasion don their maroon-colored choir robes to perform for local organizations and benefits. CHORUS 93

THAMESANA When Mitchell opened for classes this fall, several veterans were enrolled as both part-time and full-time students. All branches of the service were represented, including the Ma- rine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard and Army. A great per- centage of the club members were veterans of the Viet Nam conflict, but several members were men who had fulnlled career requirements and had de- cided to return to college under the new G.I. Bill. Most of the members met during the col- lege's orientation program in the fall and decided that a club was needed for the older men. A constitution was written, sub- mitted, and approved, and the club was officially recognized. The club's activities included participation in several school functions, including a Christ- mas party for the underprivil- eged children and a symposium on Viet Nam. Academically the club maintained averages above the necessary 2.0. One mem- mer was officially recognized in the Mitchell College Society of Scholars. M--,f What? No photos by Blum ? . . . OUTING CLUB MANSFIELD PLAYERS Brisk autumn afternoons were spent sail- ing on the Thames until the threat of hurricanes cut the season short. While most students huddled in the winter warmth of their dorms, Outing enthusi- asts were skimming down the snow- covered slopes of Vermont. Impatiently they then awaited the return of spring and its promise of swimming, scuba div- ing, and sailing. No slouches they!
