Michael Mclntosh, this whory deed's Full failure, I must repeat again, Rests solely with your poor attitude Concerning poetic genius and time. Surely Wordsworth in his best of form Had no such petty restraints on rhyme. Best poems are born, they don't just begin. Whether in team or individual competition, it calls for a persevering self-discipline before the rewards of accomplishment can be achieved. As usual, we earned more cuts and bruises than we would like to claim, but then there were wins, some championships and trophies, and almost always the good feeling of having done a little better than before. If we haven't quite reached the top, we're on our way . . Lf. U . V -V541 Football The 1972 football season was a tough one for the Griffs. Six of their opponents ranked among the top twenty teams in Division I of area small colleges. Despite early losses, however, the crew made a fine showing of wins at mid-season. Even some losses were remarkably good fights. The Homecoming game against Kearney State is a case in point. 76 fi 2 'lil .75 xx 3 In ,R .. N wa A H M .. 1- . -- ff? , Q Q . ff , A. Q' -,R - xf . This year was full of activity and we may have failed to cover everything. We apologize and can only hope to do better next year. Our cover is the creative work of Neil Sandstad, MWC artist and instructor. Photo-editor James Rook, photographers Mike Wylie, Steve Buhman, and Ken Rosenauer scrambled to get pictures taken. Kathy Laughlin, Denise Bartles, Bryant Hertel, and Debe Land tried their hands at making layouts. As editor and associate editor, we spent many days and nights doing whatever had to be done to meet deadlines. lt's been a terrific challenge to learn and produce at the same time, but encouraged by our sponsor, we managed to put the book through. We are grateful for a job done, but our wheels are spinning, and, with an expanded staff, we are ready to get at it again. Ann Eckard, editor Al Gardner, associate editor .1 ff' in W lhftn, if ac, .
